A “content scraper” called “FindHealthClinics dot com” (which is based in the UK) has apparently stolen our website’s contents and posted the blogs on their own site, pretending to be a good way for the general public to find therapists, health services, and so forth.
Here’s the introductory paragraph sent in an email just a few minutes ago. The instant I read it, the fact that it was some kind of fraudulent site was apparent… it’s an awful lot like the old “Who’s Who in Business” hard-bound books that were hawked years ago, and the incessant phone calls regarding “your Google business listing”. UGH.
“Dear Heritage Health Services Maine,
We are thrilled to inform you that your distinguished business services service has been successfully added to FindHealthClinics – a trusted online directory for institutions, clinics, practitioners and businesses in the healthcare and wellness sectors. Congratulations on being part of our esteemed community!
FindHealthClinics serves as a powerful platform to connect individuals seeking medical, health, and wellness services with reputable professionals and institutions like yours. Whether you specialize in advanced medical treatments, holistic therapies, wellness services, or any other aspect of healthcare, our website empowers potential clients to discover and connect with your institution.
Don’t get sucked into using a site like this. As it’s explained on CounselingWise.com, the purpose of content scrapers like FindHealthClinics dot com is as follows:
“FindHealthClinic’s strategy isn’t to rank for the keywords that help therapists connect with clients. Their goal is twofold:
- To get unsuspecting potential clients to click on advertisements.
- To scare therapists and business owners into buying a subscription to boost their listing, thinking it will help them attract more clients.”
There’s a good description of content scrapers here: https://www.counselingwise.com/scraper-site-findhealthclinics-may-have-stolen-all-your-content/ which also explains how to get your website info removed from these bottom feeders.
So very tired of scams and scammers. I’m sure you are, too!
