The heating system in my office suite went ka-blooey. Over the weekend it got really cold in here, so yesterday I called the landlord even though I didn’t want to bother him, as he’d just had hip surgery.
But he immediately got hold of a repair company, and they sent out a maintenance tech who ended up spending hours over the course of a day and a half on top of the building’s flat roof in this weather with a wind chill in the teens. Joseph was wonderful… he was cheerful, frequently let me know what was going on, and even gave loads of pats and rubs to my obnoxious, barking dogs.
It only took a minute to call his company and let them know he deserved major kudos; the person answering the phone told me how pleased she was to hear this and that she’d make certain he was aware of my call.
It only takes a minute, and could take the chill off an otherwise frigidly cold day at work.
